The only good,
Chelem, location is good, and on the beach.
We arrived the 3rd week of September 2024. There had been a storm a month before we got there. A lot of the beach sand and trees behind the house were gone. So the bottom steps of the back deck to step onto the beach sand was a 3 foot drop off and unusable. Owners didn't even bother to place anything for us to access the beach, a ladder? portable steps? Nope, nothing. So we had to stack up miscellaneous rocks laying around to make a unstable and unsafe steps to even get on to the beach. And then there was the pool issue, we arrived to see the pool water was 2 feet low and green with algie. Laura who first met us there to let us into the house said "Oh you just have to turn the breakers switches on and turn the water pump on in one bedroom", and it should fill up in 8 hours. The pool should have been maintained and ready to use when we arrived. The pool water was so neglected that it took 6-7 days of chemicals to finally shock the water to partially clear. We finally got to use the chemical filled pool on the 8th day of our vacation. Paying guests shouldn't ever have to maintain the water level, pumping or chemical treatments at any rental property. I reserved the house three months prior to arriving, and upon arrival, it looked like nobody had been in or around the house to maintain it for two months. 50 year old rusted shower heads barely even worked, 50 year old toilets barely worked. Four different old keys to open front and back doors. Mosquitos and sand fleas were relentless. House really needs to be updated, the A/C units were the only newer updates we noticed. Disappointing.and overpriced.
